Santa Came Through

I must admit, going to Disneyland (as much fun as it was) made December a little strange. It didn’t really feel like Christmas time. Not in a bad way. It was just different. We had made a deal with the kids that we would go to Disneyland in exchange for Christmas gifts. So not only did we miss the first week of December (‘miss’ meaning we were on vacation) but we didn’t spend our evenings shopping and plotting. Although, we were still just as busy (I still haven’t figured it out!) I did, however, do more baking and treat making than usual

…maybe that is why I had to buy new jeans…

On Christmas Eve, we maintained our tradition of opening the jammies from Grandma and Grandpa and doing our homemade gift exchange. Only this year, we added one thing: we read The Christmas Sweater by Glenn Beck. The kids really got into their gift making this year. Randy made me a little book of pictures to remind me not to get stressed. I made Nathan a cork gun, Casey made Randy a duct tape belt, and Hailey made Tyler an ‘I Spy’ bottle.  Tyler made a snow globe for Emma, and Hannah made Casey a shirt with a stenciled drum set on it. Nathan made an mp3 holder for Hailey, and Emma made little pom pom puppy zipper pulls for Hannah.

By then, it was feeling like Christmas.

And when we woke Christmas morning, we saw that Rudolph and kissed each of the kids and the stockings were full! That proved it was, indeed, Christmas! Santa had come, just like we knew he would.

Grandmas and grandpas delivered, too!

Emma was being a ham and posing with each gift like this!

It was a great Christmas, Not because of what we got, but because we were together. Cheesy, I know.
